How to Use the Main Menu
TYPE-IT !	Use This option if you know the name, title, or subject for which you want to search. You can also use this option to search for any word(s) that might appear in a name, title, subject, or summary portion of a record. KidsPac will ask you what kind of search you want to do: AUTHOR, TITLE, SUBJECT, or WORD. Then just type in what you are looking for and press "GO!" These types of searches are further described by clicking HERE.
PICTURE-IT !	Use this option if you do not know the subject that you want to search, or if you don't know what words to use to search for that subject. KidsPac will give you a group of pictures that you can click on to find your topic. Each link will either give you a new list of topics under that category, or it will do a search for you. BROWSE-IT !	Use this option if you do not know the exact name, title, or subject that you want to search, but you do know what part of the alphabet to search. KidsPac will ask you if you want to search for an AUTHOR, TITLE, SERIES (like The Chronicles of Narnia), or SUBJECT. After you choose, it will ask you what letter of the alphabet you want to search under. Take this self-guided tour to see how this works.
How to Navigate After Your Search
	This button takes you back to the very first KidsPac Menu.
	This button takes you back to the page from which you launched your search. For example, if you clicked on the picture for BASEBALL, and now you want to do a search for FOOTBALL, the CHANGE SEARCH button will take you back to the same menu that the BASEBALL link was on.
	This button changes the display of AUTHORS, TITLES, SUBJECTS, and WORDS to show more information about the title, such as LOCATION, CALL NUMBER, or YEAR of publication.
	This button changes the EXTENDED DISPLAY back to SHORT DISPLAY.
	If you search finds more that 12 things, then this button will take you to the next screen of results.
	This button will take you to the previous screen of results.
	This button will return you to the results of a search from specific titles, or if, for example, you search for shells, there might be two groups of records: Shells--Atlantic Coast and Shells--Pacific Coast. If you choose Shells--Atlantic Coast, then RETURN TO BROWSE will take you back to the screen where you can choose Shells--Pacific Coast.
	If you are looking at a specific title, this button will take you to the NEXT TITLE in the index.
	If you are looking at a specific title, this button will take you to the PREVIOUS TITLE in the index.
	This button will save multiple records that you have selected with the checkboxes next to the title list. Use this button to put all your titles in one place for printing, or you can email the titles to yourself all at once.
	This button will save the title in a file that you can view later with the VIEW SAVED RECORDS button. Use this button to put all your titles in one place for printing, or you can email the titles to yourself all at once.
	This button will take you to a page that allows you to select the way that you want to view your saved titles. This is good for viewing all the titles at once so that you can print them all out, or if you want to email the titles to yourself or a friend.
	Use this button to clear all of your saved titles off the computer. Make sure you are done saving, printing, and emailing the records first!
	If the search you did brings back too many titles, you can use this button to limit the titles in special ways, like "Videos only," "only titles after 1996," or "only titles with the word Dolls in the subject."
	Sometimes the title that you want is already checked out to someone else. This button lets you reserve the title when it is retuned to the library. By entering your name and identification, the library can hold the book for you when it is returned and then tell you when it is ready for you.
	Sometimes KidsPac will take you to a new screen to perform a function (like LIMIT SEARCH or HOLD TITLE). This button takes you back to the previous screen.
	If your library subscribes to the Encyclopedia Britannica Web Service, then you can search for information in the encyclopedia that is related to your searches in the library catalog.
